Week 2 of PR&P challenge!! (Boys Wear)

I was so excited to hear that this next weeks challenge was Boys Wear!! I've been wanting to make an outfit for my oldest son Alex for awhile but haven't been too inspired..

Sooo since his birthday is Feb. 5th.. (Superbowl day!) I decided to make him an out fit to celebrate his upcoming 4 years of age and thought it'd make a cute outfit to wear for his invitations!!

So Here is what I did!!

I took an adult size polo shirt! 

Sized it down to his size and made my own #4 applique!!

Then in the last picture I took my dad's pair of old suspenders and shortened them to his size!

And I took a pair of my dad's old pants and sized them down to Alex's Size..  using a tutorial from"This Mama Makes Stuff" here!

Here is the final!

Tutorial- DIY Iron Appliques!!

Super Super easy!! I actually just took the instructions right off the back of "Ultra bond Heatbond"!

First you Draw/Print your design on a piece of paper..

Then trace it onto the paper side of Heatbond.. (trace it backwards!!!)

Next pick out your fabric and place it on the WRONG side..

Next Iron it down





Then Cut it out!!

Then peel of white paper.. place it on clothing or whatever

and Iron!

All Done!! (You could then sew a border to make it more secure if you like!)

Week 1..Project Run and Play!! "Junebug to Winterbug" Dress!!

Ok!! So I told you in my last post I was gonna start the Project Run and Play!! The Season just started and I want to participate each week!! I'm so excited!! :)

So this weeks task is a Pattern Remix!!

They gave everyone this pattern.. and wanted it mixed up!!

So I picked out my fabric..

and started cutting and sewing..

I got a little to excited and got a booboo!!

lol!

I remixed it by using zippers instead of buttons..

I added a collar and sleeves..

Then I pleated the skirt instead of gathering it!!

And Here's what I came up with!!

I love it!!

A chapter from my life..

Wheww.. Christmas came and went so fast!! It was overall really great though!!

There is nothing like watching your kids expressions and see their faces light up when they open presents and when they see all the Christmas lights!!

 It also puts me into perspective of the power of family and how important they are to me... It's so easy to take them for granted and to get so caught up into the busy life and responsibilities... Ever since Zane's grand entrance it's made me realize how fast Alex and Lexie are growing... So many things come to mind of what I should've done and could've done.. but i guess no matter what I do they are still going to grow up... :(

My husband has also surprised me! I swear ladies I married the best man on this planet! :) lol! He's such a good Dad and such a good husband! He's so unselfish and so giving of his time and attention! He's really taken a stand for us as a family and made it very clear to me and everyone else that we are his number 1 priority... I'm so proud of him also because he just got a raise at work!

I'm so excited for this next year and everything that could happen!! We're hoping by June we'll be in our very own first home!! God's goodness and faithfulness is such an amazing reward ex specially when you remain faithful to him.. I hope and pray in all my actions this next year will honor Him..

I'm also so excited about my upcoming sewing projects I have lined up!! I've really gotten into the Project Run and Play Blog so we'll see some of those real soon!! Thanks for reading! Love you guys!!
