PR&P Final Challenge "Signature Look"

So I was so excited when Project Run and Play announced that they were doing another challenge, just because I wasn't able to do the last two challenges due to being overly busy!

The Final and Last Challenge of the season is to create a "Signature Look"!

So I got to thinking about what my signature look is and I knew for sure I wanted to do something that incorporated my whole Repurpose Idea and then I love making dresses!

So I made a dress using my own patterns and incorporated into the dress a piece from my own wedding dress!! Yes! I know some of you are probably like"You cut up your wedding dress!" Actually I was sewn into it on my wedding day and it had to be cut off and torn off of me that night! (yes very romantic! hahaha!) So I used a piece of my dress that was an added decorative detail that use to go across the waistline of my wedding dress. I added it to the shoulder and draped it down one side of the dress! My vision of this dress came out perfectly and It's a dress that has a lot of meaning to me and I'm glad I get to give it to my daughter!!

So here is what I came up with!!!

SuperBowl party Costumes!!

Well first off, just because our Packers didn't make it to the SuperBowl, doesn't mean we won't dress up and cheer for them!!! lol! In Wisconsin we are serious when it comes to our Packers! haha! Our church hosted a "Souper Bowl Contest and Party" for the SuperBowl and I was asked to make 4 close friends of ours Packer Kilts.. so what did I say? YES! lol!

Here they are!!

Next I made my daughter a tutu and Packer Skirt!

Then Finally I was asked to make the winning apron for the Soup Contest!!

 

A SuperHero Birthday Party!

I can not believe my Alex turned 4! How come when you're little and going through school, time seems to go by so slowly and it's like it takes you forever to grow up but now that I'm older and have my own kids it's like time is just shooting by!! It's not fair! lol! :) He's changing to much and I'm so proud of him!!

So his birthday was actually February 5th (superbowl day) so we celebrated it Feb. 4th and when I asked him what he wanted to do for his birthday he said "SUPERMAN!!" lol!

So I first knew I wanted to make him this cape! He loves it! Actually we had a dr. appt the next monday and he wore it to the appt as well! :)

Also we knew we were gonna have lots of little guests so made some felt mask! (Super easy by the way)

And you can't have a birthday party with out a pin the tail game!!

So we did pin the cape on the superhero!!

Thanks to my mom for drawing it!!

And you can't forget the Superhero cupcakes and cake!

Then throw in all the games and we had a great party!!

PR&P Week 3 Challenge: "Pick a decade" -- 70's it is!

I've been so excited for this weeks challenge of Project Run and Play!

It's pick a decade!! I love Flower Power so I had to do a hippie outfit!!

So I made from scratch my first pair of jeans!! whoo hoo!

 I used a tutorial from me sew crazy! for the pants.. I altered the tutorial a little to give the pants a higher waist and bell bottoms!

then I used the Bali Break Tunic at Sewing in No man's land, for the top!! I was given this vintage fabric from a friend of mine and I've been dying to make something from it!!
